Back in 2003, I was part of a 5 person team Murphy's Law who competed in Redbull's Flugtag in New York city. We built a giant pot, a homemade hang glider and launched my friend Pat into the Hudson River.
I am so grateful to have grown up in the 80s / 90s. From playing outside until the street lights came on to zero Internet, I wouldn't have wanted any other experience. And yes, I perfected the bang game!

engaged in a 10 minute long conversation with James Taylor not knowing who he was He asked me, “Do you like James Taylor?” I responded, “I think my Dad listens to him.” I was 20.
have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Mexico and the US building homes.
In July of 2016, we had the opportunity to experience a rare phenomenon called a humpback super pod. The captain estimated over 100 whales surrounding our small 20 ft fishing boat. Before other boats arrived it was just 6 of us for 20 minutes.

I learned photography from my Mom and Pops, I grew up with a darkroom in the house. Because of this, I have tons of photos of me young. This is my all time favorite photo of my childhood.
My life completely changed when I moved to the Outer Banks in 2006. It was there that I met my late best friend Sara. I owe my career to her. Unfortunately she passed in 2022.
I was very close with my neighborhood friends and still am. In 2019 we lost one our best girlfriends. Her husband murdered her and their 3 children. You can listen to me on a podcast about Megan and this horrific tragedy.
I used to live in Mexico.
It was there, 15 years ago, that I met one of my closest friends Beth. We have traveled the world together including working in Kenya for a month providing photography for various non profits.
My father, Larry Lewis, was in a band called the Measles, back in the 70s. His best friend Joe Walsh was the other guitar player. Joe will later join The Eagles and become an International rock star.
My mother is one of the strongest women I will ever know. She raised my sister and I as a single mom, working 3 jobs, for 7 years. She refused to ever give up on a better life for us all.

I am and always have been a "Tom Boy". As a kid I was always helping my Pops with projects that required manual labor, getting dirty and pissing off my mom.
My Dad and my Pops were close friends my entire life. At my wedding to Byrdie's dad, the majority of friends assumed they were a couple and my Mom was a single mom.
I placed 1st in regionals and 3rd in the state for public speaking in 5th grade with "Sick" by Shel Silverstein and I still can recite it from memory.
