I had the privilege of photographing Emily and John in their hometown about a month ago. Emily and John were the lucky winners of the Outer Banks Wedding Expo’s DREAM WEDDING and for the past two year I have donated the engagement session to the lucky couple. It was such a pleasure to meet and work with them both. Emily is by far one of the kindest people I have ever met, she even had an Easter Basket waiting for me when I got to their house. Because I was traveling, I had Mingus with me. Without a second thought John took him by the leash and led him outside to their back yard to go potty. They are just wonderful people and we had an absolute blast spending some time together. Their wedding was a couple of days ago and I heard it was perfect. CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!

Ummmm, how friggin’ cute are these two? I don’t think Katelin stopped smiling the entire 3 hours we spent together. We met at a local pub/sandwich shop to just get to know each other first. Their love story would make you squirm it’s so warm and lovely and it’s completely obvious that they are head over heels crazy about one another. Although Nnamdi was a little nervous/shy to be in front of the camera so we all made sure to have a good Belgium Ale before heading out into downtown Manteo to shoot. Before we knew it, the sun had gone down and we had a gorgeous bright blue twilight to finish up the day. I am really looking forward to their wedding and am hoping they are able to get the officiant that they are hoping to secure, but it’s a secret so I can’t say anything now but I promise it’s CRAZY awesome.
kirstenLphotog Thanks Jess, I can't wait to make beautiful photos for you!!! (May 23, 2010 06:53 am)

From the moment I spoke to Mike on the phone I KNEW I was going to love working with the both of them. They are free spirited, laid back, fun and their positive energy is completely infectious. Mike is a total gadget nerd, like me, and probably know more about Photoshop than all of me and my friends put together. We met at this BEAUTIFUL park in Maryland, very close to where they live, and spent the late afternoon just getting to know each other and shooting in the perfect light blanketing the ground. I was so excited to learn that they had a little boy and that they wanted me to focus as much on him as the two of them, the day of the wedding. As you might know, I ADORE photographing kids. And their wedding last week? Incredible! But you’ll have to wait to see the pics until sometime in the next couple of weeks. For now, enjoy a few from our engagement session.

I finally met Frances and Justus at the Outer Banks Wedding Show back in January, even though they had booked with me last summer. It was wonderful to finally put two faces to all of the emails and I couldn’t image photographing their engagement session anywhere else but their hometown. We had a great time getting lost in Maryland, trying to navigate from park to park. Justus actually ended up teaching me a thing or two about my iphone map program, and he doesn’t even own an iphone. Sad, very sad. I am really proud of this session, the light was challenging but really fun to work with, not to mention the fact that photographing these two was a piece of cake, gorgeous and up for anything!
